Snowboarder Cameron Bolton kicked off his season in style over the weekend with a career-best result in Austria.

Bolton placed fourth in the opening round of the 2015/16 World Cup season, winning his quarter final before placing second in the semi-final to secure his top four finish. His previous best came in Spain where he placed 10th during 2013.

NSWIS rider Alex Pullin took ninth overall while Jarryd Hughes and Matthew Thomas were unable to progress past the round of 32.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Belle Brockhoff also started the season on a positive note after finishing fifth in the women’s snowboard cross, winning the final race of the day to cap a strong performance.

Elsewhere, the freestyle moguls World Cup season began in Finland with NSWIS skiers Matthew Graham and Brodie Summers finishing in eighth and 15th place respectively in the men’s event, while Britt Cox took 15th in the women’s event.

The ski cross season continued in France as Sami Kennedy-Sim continued to notch excellent results, finishing seventh and 13th across the two days of racing, with Anton Grimus placing 21st on the first day of racing before being eliminated in the round of 32 on day two.
