The Australian junior women’s hockey team has made a dream start to the 2013 FIH Junior World Cup in Germany with two big wins.

The Jillaroos, featuring five NSWIS athletes, began their campaign with a 6-1 drubbing of India before adding to their success with a 6-0 demolition of Russia.

NSWIS athlete Emily Smith got her name on the scoresheet against Russia, scoring the final goal of the match, with fellow NSWIS athletes Lily Brazel, Nina Khoury, Jade Warrender and Mathilda Carmichael all seeing game time.

The Australians next play New Zealand in pool C.
