Cyclists Josie Talbot and Jack Edwards have cemented reputations as rising stars by being named on the Australian team competing at the 2013 UCI Junior Track World Championships later this year.

Both NSWIS riders have been selected in the endurance group, which includes the men’s and women’s team pursuit, individual pursuit, scratch race, points race and omnium. Male athletes also compete in the madison.

Talbot and Edwards will race in the Sir Chris Hoy Velodrome in Glasgow at the championships, the same venue that will host the cycling for the 2014 Commonwealth Games, potentially fuelling a bid for senior representation at the Games in 2014.

The championships take place in Glasgow, Scotland from August 7-11.
