A host of current and former NSWIS athletes will be part of celebrations around the state to mark Australia Day 2016.

Australia Day festivities take place in more than 400 Australian communities, including city suburbs, regional cities and remote towns, with the ambassadors taking part in celebrations to share the common traits of achievement through hard work, talent and a strong sense of patriotism.

This year a total of 11 current or former NSWIS athletes have been selected as Australia Day ambassadors:
