The Australian men’s team pursuit quartet has finished the 2014/15 UCI Track Cycling World Cup in style with a gold medal victory at the final event in Cali, Colombia.

Featuring NSWIS athletes Jackson and Scott Law and Tirian McManus, the Australians fought their way past Denmark in the semi-final, coming from behind after the first kilometre to secure passage to the final.

Facing Russia in the gold medal ride, the Australians led for most of the race before the Russians took the lead, only for the Australians to surge ahead once more and take gold by one second.

The gold medal saw Australia finish second in the overall men’s team pursuit World Cup rankings, with 14 riders being used across three events.
