The NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) is pleased to announce Champion Systems and Bont as the newest members of Team Subaru NSWIS.

Champion Systems will provide Team Subaru NSWIS with world leading cycling apparel, which is complemented by the acquisition of Bont, makers of the world’s finest cycling footwear.

Champion System Australia General Manager Vaughan McVilly said his company was a leader in garment production and there was a natural fit with an organisation like Team Subaru NSWIS.

“Champion Systems owner Chris Reynolds has been an ongoing leading supporter of cycling in this country and teaming with professional teams like Subaru NSWIS has become a pivotal point for our ongoing development of garments,” Mr McVilly said.

“When you own your own factories, your own laboratories, and your own design studios, unlike 95% of our competitors, when we say we have developed, tested and confirmed one of the best garments in the market, it is not just marketing spin but an absolute certainty.”

Bont CEO Steven Nemeth was equally pleased to be working with the state’s next bunch of talented road racers.

"We are delighted to be involved with Team Subaru NSWIS and look forward to supplying the team with cutting edge products throughout the year,” Mr Nemeth said.

“As a company who prides itself on technical innovation and integrity, we are proud to be working with a team whose values match those of Bont.”

Ben Kersten, Directeur Sportif of Team Subaru NSWIS, said that having world leading apparel and footwear is crucial for the success of the newly established team.

“We are delighted to be able to form partnerships with Champion Systems and Bont,” Kersten said.

“Just like our riders, their products are of extremely high quality and will undoubtedly help our athletes continue on their pathways to becoming elite cyclists.”

The team consists of Mudgee pair Ayden Toovey and Jordan Payne, current NSWIS riders Bradley Heffernan, Jack Edwards and Nathan Bradshaw, along with new recruits Harrison Carter and Sam Jenner.

Team Subaru NSWIS competes in its first event at the popular Bathurst to Blayney weekend in regional NSW, April 5-6th before taking on their first National Road Series (NRS) event – “Battle of the Border” May 15-18
