NSWIS snowboarder Tess Coady has recorded a remarkable weekend of results by winning double junior World Championship gold in the Czech Republic.

Fresh off a sixth place finish at the final senior World Cup of the season, Coady reigned supreme in both the junior women’s slopestyle and big air events to cement her spot at the top of the snowboarding world.

The 16-year old’s slopestyle gold came after dominating the competition, scoring 94.25 in the final run of the event to secure victory over her Japanese and Finnish competitors.

Coady’s second world title, the junior women’s big air, featured the exact same leaderboard as the slopestyle, with Japan’s Reira Iwabuchi and Finland’s Elli Pikkujamsa taking silver and bronze.

However, unlike the slopestyle, Coady’s big air victory margin was much smaller after posting 167.25 points to Iwabuchi’s 166.50.

“I’m over the moon! Couldn’t have asked for a better day!” Coady posted on her Instagram after the victory.
