The action from day three of the 2014 Commonwealth Games wrapped up early Sunday AEST, with NSWIS swimmer Emma McKeon (
@emma_mckeon) adding a third gold medal to her incredible haul.

The Wollongong native joined compatriots Alicia Coutts, Brittany Elmslie and Bronte Barratt in the women’s 4x200m freestyle relay event, with the Australian team once again dominating the competition to win gold by nearly two seconds from Canada. The Australians continued their record breaking ways by setting a new Games’ record in the event.

There was also medal joy for NSWIS triathletes Aaron Royle (
@ARoyle90) and Ryan Bailie(@OfficialBailie) on day three of competition, as the duo teamed with Emma Moffatt and Emma Jackson to win gold in the mixed team relay. England won the event comfortably, with the Australians finishing behind silver medallists South Africa by just one second.

The NSWIS medal tally now stands at five gold, one silver and three bronze medals following three days of competition.

Elsewhere in Glasgow, the Australian men’s hockey team, featuring three NSWIS athletes, made a strong start to their title defence with a 7-1 win over Wales; Australia’s netball team came from behind to defeat England 49-48 in a thriller; the Australian rugby sevens team began their campaign with three wins from three matches, and the Australian women’s table tennis team earned a place in tonight’s bronze medal match.
