Day six of the Commonwealth Games saw a suite of medals being won by NSWIS athletes as the swimming events came to a close in Glasgow.

The medals were highlighted by Daniel Tranter (
@DanielTranter) winning gold in the men’s 200m individual medley, as the Olympian posted a new Commonwealth Games record of 1:57.83 to capture his first Commonwealth Games gold medal.

There was more gold for superstar Emma McKeon (
@emma_mckeon), who was part of the victorious Australian women’s 4x100m medley relay team. McKeon swam the third leg of the event as the Australian team won in a new Games’ record of 3:56.23, with the gold being McKeon’s fourth of the Games.

To complement the gold won by Tranter and McKeon, NSWIS athletes James Magnussen(
@james_maggie91) and Jayden Hadler won silver in the men’s 4x100m medley relay. Magnussen, who earlier won bronze in the men’s 50m freestyle, anchored the team to touch the wall in 3:32.21, just 0.7 seconds behind the victorious English quartet.

Day six of competition included several more solid performances from NSWIS athletes, including Cameron Ivory (
@camivory) who finished eighth in the men’s cross country mountain bike, Michael Diamond‘s fourth place finish in the men’s trap shooting event, andJake Stein (@JakeStein_Dec) placing 14th in the men’s decathlon.

The NSWIS medal tally now stands at 11 gold, two silver and seven bronze medals following six days of competition.

Several NSWIS athletes are in contention for medals on day seven of the Games, including Melissa Wu (
@MelissaPaigeWu) in the women’s 10m platform synchro; Matt Mitcham (@matthew_mitcham) in the men’s 1m springboard; Esther Qin in the women’s 3m springboard synchro; Brandon Starc (@brandonstarc93) in the men’s high jump, andFabrice Lapierre (@FabriceLapierre) in the men’s long jump.
