The NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) is pleased to announce bike manufacturer Trek has joined the new-look Subaru NSWIS Cycling Team as the team’s exclusive road bicycle supplier.

Trek will supply bikes to the seven-strong Subaru NSWIS Cycling Team in 2014, before matching the team’s growth over the coming years as the strength and success of the team develops.

Bradley McGee, a two-time Tour de France stage winner and the Head Coach of the NSWIS Cycling Program, is thrilled by the development of the partnership with Trek, the world’s leading bike manufacturer. 

“To create a partnership with Trek is an exciting step for our NSWIS Cycling Program, McGee said.

“Trek is a truly inspirational company that shares our long term vision for our young athletes – effective development and stronger opportunities.”

Ian Callaghan, Trek’s National Marketing Manager, said Trek is equally excited by the new look partnership.“

“With a focus on the development of up and coming junior riders, the future potential of this team is enormous.”

Team Subaru NSWIS competes in its first event at the 2014 Blayney to Bathurst Cyclo Sportif Challenge on April 6.

The team is headlined by Mudgee duo Ayden Toovey and Jordan Payne who will be joined by NSWIS athletes Bradley Heffernan, Jack Edwards and Nathan Bradshaw, along with new recruits from the NSWIS Talent Pool Harrison Carter and Sam Jenner.
