Three NSWIS athletes have each podium finishes at triathlon events in England and Spain.

Charlotte McShane’s performance at the 2013 British Triathlon Championships in Liverpool, England, was good enough to win gold in the women’s elite event, clocking a time of 1:03.20, just over 40 seconds ahead of second place.

The championships also saw fellow NSWIS athlete Aaron Royle competing in the men’s elite event, just weeks after being released from hospital after suffering from pneumonia. Royle finished in 57.21, 20 seconds behind compatriot and winner Brendan Sexton.

Elsewhere, fellow NSWIS athlete Tamsyn Moana-Veale competed at the ITU World Cup event in Palamos, Spain. Moana-Veale made up significant time over the run leg to finish with bronze in the women’s elite event after a sprint to the finish, missing out on silver by a mere two seconds.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Natalie Van Coevorden finished 10th.
