Twelve NSWIS rowers have been selected for the senior Australian team to contest the 2011 World Rowing Championships in Slovenia later this year.

Included in the men’s team are NSWIS athletes Dan Noonan (quad scull), Nick Hudson (single scull), Nick Purnell (coxless four), James Chapman (coxed pair) and Rod Chisholm (lightweight eight, lightweight pair). The Australian men’s eight team consists of the following five NSWIS athletes; Fergus Pragnell, Matt Ryan, Francis Hegerty, Sam Loch and Toby Lister (cox).

The women’s team sees Brooke Pratley and Amy Ives contesting the quad scull.

The Australian under-23 team was also announced, with two NSWIS athletes set to compete at the 2011 U23 World Rowing Championships in the Netherlands; Spencer Turrin in the men’s eight and Edward De Carvalho in the men’s lightweight double scull.
