Hoare and O’Hanlon Earn Top Gongs at Athletic Awards

Commonwealth champion and NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) scholar Ollie Hoare has been named the recipient of the Bruce McAvaney Award for Performance of the Year as part of the Athletics Australia Awards for 2022., while Paralympic stalwart and fellow NSWIS scholarship holder Evan O’Hanlon won the Russell Short Award for Male Para Athletes of the Year.

Fox and Thompson Crowned Kayak Cross Champions

NSWIS scholars Jessica Fox and Angus Thompson were crowned Kayak Cross national champions after their impressive performances on the Penrith Whitewater Stadium course.

Eleanor Patterson’s Journey of Discovery

It took only six seconds out of 26-year-old Eleanor Patterson’s life  to complete the effort that secured her the world high jump championship title, but, as much as it’s a treasured moment, the NSWIS  scholarship athlete insists the victory shouldn’t define her as an individual.

Wunsch Wins Third Title at Swimming Champs

It was touch and go when NSW pair Olivia Wunsch and Jessica Cole hit the wall locked together in the opening event on Night Six of the 2023 Australian Age Swimming Championships on the Gold Coast tonight.
