In Australia and around the world, across multiple sports, NSWIS scholarship holders were finishing on the podium.

Valentino Finishes Second

Teenage sensation and NSW Institute of Sport (NSWIS) scholarship holder Valentino Guseli has claimed back-to-back world cup halfpipe silver medals and finished second in the end of season rankings.

 

Podium Results at Penrith Open

At the Penrith Open, NSWIS scholarship holder Lucien Delfour finished first in the men’s K1 and NSWIS team mate Timothy Anderson second, with both of them in front of one of the world’s best Mathieu Biazizzo, who finished third. In the men’s C1, Lachlan Bassett was third and his brother Kaylen fourth.

In the women’s K1, Olympic gold medallist Jess Fox finished first and Noemie third, with the same results in the women’s C1.

Grace Scores In FIH Pro

NSWIS scholarship holder Grace Stewart helps Hockeyroos to an impressive 3-0 win over Germany in their FIH Pro League match at the Sydney Olympic Park Hockey Centre, scoring the third goal in the 58th minute.

 

Solid Results at MTB Nationals

NSWIS scholarship holder Katherine Hosking finished second in the XC Olympic Elite Women, second in the XC Short Course at the MTB National Championships and first in the XC relay with Sam Fox, Eddie Willis and David Winfield.

 

Ollie Equals Australian Record

“3rd place at @millrosegames with an equal Australian record. Hard to be disappointed in my performance. Wanted more but excited to learn from this race and improve myself for the upcoming season.”

At other events, Erin Shaw finished third, equaling her PB with 1.90m at the Udin Jumps Development Meet in Udine, Italy. Rohan Browning finished first in the 100m (10.25) at the Adelaide Invitational Meet in his first run of the season and Connor Murphy finished second at the same event in the triple jump (16.01m).
