Mogul skier and NSWIS scholarship holder Matt Graham won a silver in the moguls and a bronze in the dual moguls at the 2023 FIS World Championships, in Bakuriani, Georgia, becoming just the second Australian to ever win two medals at a FIS World Championships after Dale Begg-Smith’s gold and silver in Madonna di Campiglio, Italy, back in 2007.

Fellow NSWIS scholarship holder Jesse Parkinson finished tenth in men’s snowboard slopestyle qualifications, narrowly missing finals by two places at his first ever world championships.

 

Tim Breaks World Record

NSWIS athlete Tim Hodge broke his own world record to claim gold in the 200m medley multi-class final with a time of 2:13.38!

Track and Field Athletes on Fire in Melbourne

NSWIS athletes Olli Hoare, Jessica Hull, Nicola Olyslagers and Sam Dale all finished first in their respective events in front of a capacity crowd of 6,177 at Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne for the Maurie Plant Meet.

 

Gold to Tom at UCI Track Nations

Australia’s team sprint world champions including NSWIS athlete Tom Cornish have started their year in rainbow on the front foot, winning the opening round of the Tissot UCI Track Nations Cup in Jakarta.
