The Australian men’s and women’s wheelchair basketball teams have been announced ahead of the 2013 IWBF Asia/Ocenia Championships in Thailand.

Three NSWIS athletes have been selected in the men’s team which is coached by NSWIS Wheelchair Basketball Head Coach Ben Ettridge, with Tristan Knowles, Luke Pople and Michael Auprince all getting the nod.

Auprince will compete at his first senior wheelchair basketball world championships after representing Australia in swimming at the 2012 Paralympic Games.

The women’s team includes three NSWIS athletes, with three time Paralympians Kylie Gauci and Sarah Stewart earning selection alongside Caitlin de Wit.

The Asia/Oceania championships take place in Bangkok, Thailand from November 20-30, with both teams looking to secure spots at the 2014 world championships.
