The 2011 Australian Open wrapped up over the weekend with Rosalyn Lawrence signalling her intentions ahead of the international canoe slalom season.

The highlight of Lawrence’s weekend was her gold medal in the women’s C1, defeating fellow NSWIS athlete Jessica Fox in the process. Lawrence clocked a time of 126.75 seconds, which included four penalty seconds, to secure gold.

Lawrence’s gold was couple with a bronze in the women’s K1, edging out her sister Katrina and Fox by just over two seconds.

Will Forsythe was the pick of the lot in the men’s events, taking silver in the men’s K1 behind Great Britain’s Campbell Walsh.
