NSWIS breaststroke swimmer Matt Wilson enjoyed a very successful weekend at the NSW Open Championships, taking home two gold and one silver medal.

18-year-old Wilson, who narrowly missed out on qualifying for the Olympic Games in Rio last year, took out the 100m and 200m breaststroke titles – beating his own NSW record in the 100m.

Wilson also won silver in the 50m breaststroke on the first night of the meet, just losing out to Russia’s Andrei Nikolaev by 0.04 of a second.

Wilson will be looking to take this strong form forward towards the FINA World Championships in Budapest later in the year.
