The Singapore and Tokyo legs of the 2013 FINA World Cup concluded late last week and over the weekend, with NSWIS athletes again featuring on the medal dais.

Robert Hurley was the standout performer of the bunch, taking gold as a member of the Australian mixed 4x50m medley relay in both Singapore and Tokyo, with the team setting a world record in the event in Singapore, before setting a new world record in Tokyo.

Individually Hurley added gold in the men’s 400m freestyle and silver in the men’s 50m and 100m backstroke in Singapore, before winning silver in the men’s 50m backstroke, 100m backstroke, 200m freestyle and 400m freestyle in Japan.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Emma McKeon was also in action at both events, finishing with a swag of medals for her troubles.

In Singapore McKeon took gold in the women’s 200m freestyle and bronze the women’s 50m butterfly and 100m freestyle, before heading to Tokyo where she won bronze in the women’s 200m freestyle.
