High profile NSWIS divers Matthew Mitcham and Melissa Wu will spearhead a 12-strong Australian diving team at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow this year.

Platform specialist Wu is heading to her third Commonwealth Games, leading a number of inexperienced females.

Joining Mitcham in the male team will be New Delhi springboard bronze medallist Grant Nel and 19-year-old platform specialist Domonic Bedggood.

Bedggood will team up with Mitcham in the platform synchronised event, while Nel and Mitcham will take on the best in the Commonwealth in the springboard synchronised.

Wu won the individual and synchro 10m platform finals at the Commonwealth Games selection trials in Melbourne last week, whilst Mitcham placed first in the 3m and 10m synchro events and second in the 10m individual platform.

Fellow NSWIS athlete Esther Qin is also on the team after finishing second in the women’s 3m synchro and third in the individual 3m springboard.
