The IAAF World Relays in Bahamas has returned some encouraging results for NSWIS athletes, with a medal-winning performance for one team, and qualification for World Championships qualification secured for another.

Two NSWIS athletes were pivotal in a great performance from the Australian women’s 4x800m team. The team were led out impressively by Lora Storey and anchored home by Heidi See to secure a fantastic bronze medal.

In the women’s 4x400m NSWIS athlete Annaliese Rubie was joined by debutant to the team Ella Nelson. The main target of qualification for the final, and therefore a place at the World Championships, was secured with a great performance in the semi-final. They followed this in the final, coming in 5th, a big step in the team’s development.
