Olympic gold medalist Tom Green and New South Wales Institute of Sport (NSWIS) scholarship holder Natalia Drobot have delivered two more medal performances for Australia overnight at the 2026 ICF Canoe Sprint and Paracanoe World Cup in Montreal, Canada.

Starting in lane five, Green was one of the fastest qualifiers for the nine man K1 1000 final. He was pushed from start to finish by three-time World Champion and eventual victor Fernando Pimenta (POR).

Green recorded a time of 3:36.63, 1.02 seconds behind Pimenta, with Czechia’s Josef Dostal rounding out the podium in third.

It was the second medal of the regatta for Green, who teamed up with Pierre van der Westhuyzen, Jean van der Westhuyzen and Noah Havard yesterday to win bronze in the men’s K4 500 final.

Young gun Natalia Drobot executed another medal winning performance for her country, in the women’s K1 500 final.

All eyes were on the battle between Drobot and her trans Tasman rival Aimee Fisher, who went head to head in the heats, racing it like it was a final.

Drobot started from lane five, but it was her competitors from Germany and Poland that took the lead early.

Pauline Jagsch (GER) claimed the gold medal, with Poland’s Anna Pulawska finishing in second, Drobot crossing in third and Fisher getting the chocolates in fourth place.

The Australians will hit the course for one more day of racing, before heading to Poznan, Poland for the World Championships from 26-30 August.
