NSWIS athlete Russ Henshaw was back where he belonged at the weekend – on the podium at a World Cup event.

The slopestyle skier has battled back from long term injury and secured the bronze medal at the World Cup event in Seiser Alm, Italy.

Henshaw said, “I feel like I’m back to myself. This medal is a hurdle – having spent time in rehab and training. To get back on the podium is a dream. I’m stoked. The hard work was worthwhile.”

Also celebrating on the slopes this weekend was NSWIS SBX athlete Adam Lambert, who took gold at the Grasgehren Europa Cup. This was Lambert’s third victory of the season at this level – which acts a feeder to the World Cup circuit.

This completes a fantastic weekend on the slopes for the NSWIS, with Britt Cox and Matt Graham both winning gold in the moguls World Cup.
