After a record breaking international season for Australia’s Snowsports, 11 NSWIS athletes have been nominated for Snowsport Athlete of the Year Awards.

Finalists are drawn from the list of nominees in which a winner is announced at the Awards on Thursday 27th April.

Some highlights from an exceptionally strong NSWIS contingent include spectacular mogul success from Britt Cox and Matt Graham. Snowboard cross athletes Belle Brockhoff and Alex Pullin are also recognised following impressive performances.

Tess Coady has had a stellar year, winning double junior World Championship gold in the Czech Republic earlier this month, and has deservedly been nominated for both the Snowsport Athlete of the Year and the Junior Snowsport Athlete of the Year.

Young NSWIS snowboard cross rider Adam Lambert, 19, has also been nominated in the Junior category following a stunning debut season which culminated in securing the men’s overall Europa Cup title.

Peter Topalovic, NSWIS Winter Sport Coordinator, said “It’s wonderful to see so many of our NSWIS athletes nominated this year.”

“There have been some outstanding performances, and it’s great to see that recognised in the nominations for these Awards.

“Our Winter Sports program is going from strength to strength and we’re looking forward to showing just how strong it has become next year in PyeongChang.”
